APJA- GRACE LIGHT PROTECTION

HOW TO INVOKE VALLALAR'S APJA GRACE-LIGHT POWER AT THE TIMES OF OUR CRISIS?

(Grace-Light Protection from accidents; life-threatening epidemics and diseases; natural calamities like earth-quakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, floods; wars and terrorist attacks; hostile attacks and black-magic forces)
Swami Ramalingam's benign eyes of Supreme Compassion and Vast Grace-Light (click and print)

Swami Ramalingam's EBP(Environmental Body Power) surrounds each and everyone of us. It is already there in our environment(which can be verified by touching at the corner of our photos), ready to help us and protect us always. Only if we know how to invoke and seek his ever compassionate Grace-Light protection at the time of crisis and calamities like Accidents, Natural calamities like Earth Quakes, Hurricanes, Floods, Fire accidents, Epidemic and life-threatening diseases, war or terrorist attacks, Black Magic and Hostile Attacks etc., we can instantly receive his compassionate response. Vallalar has clearly said that because of his attainment of Deathless Luminous body on the earth itself, even Lord Yama (the Messenger of Death or Forces of Darkness responsible for the death and destruction of human beings) ran away from him, fearing that his Grace-Light would dissolve and destroy him. Such is the Grace Light power. Only we need to have faith in him and call him with a respectful and prayful attitude of surrender. Our prayers should be ideally written on a white paper and submit it infront of his photo, after concentrating a minite or two on his two compassionate eyes.

As a practice always keep a picture (preferably the ones, which has the halo of Grace-Light, radiates around his body. You can click on the pictures given below and print it out. Also you can make small photos out of these pictures) with you. If possible, also practice the APJA-Yoga of Food, by taking your daily Vegetarian food after charging it with Grace-Light powers from his photo. This practice will help your body to absorb the Grace-Light power(refer the APJA Grace-Light Yoga Techniques published in this site). For the personal protection against natural calamities like earth quakes, hurricanes etc., an additional powerful practice of APJA- Gayathri Havan has more effective results. The chant of Arut Perum Jyothi mantra (as given hereunder) has the effect of immediately connecting to his power and presence. Even if you can't chant the entire mantra just try to chant or call "Arul Jyothi."

GRACE-LIGHT MANTRA

"Arut Perum Jyothi.. Arut Perum Jyothi
Thanip Perum Karunai… Arut Perum Jyothi"

"Vast Grace-Light…. Vast Grace-Light
Supreme Compassion… Vast Grace-Light"

HOW VALLALAR'S GRACE POWER CONSOLES THE VICTIMS OF THE NATURAL DISASTERS, TRAGIC DEATHS AND ACCIDENTS, EARTH QUAKES, FLOODS ETC ?

Scenes of people, who met with sudden and tragic death or are affected to suffer by natural disasters anywhere in the world like fire, storms, excessive rain and floods and coastal floods due to stormy seas, earth quakes etc. are seen surrounded by the said Grace-Power of Vallalar so as to console them by unseen divine compassion and also to generate compassion in the general public in order to arrange relief works. Relief-workers from the government agencies and social welfare organizations and the individuals who carry out relief measures are also seen with the same power in the picture of relief-camps. The Grace-power is felt surely if such pictures are seen or touched along with Vallalar's picture as in His radiant body with Grace-Light surrounding it in full.

HOW TO INVOKE VALLALAR'S GRACE LIGHT POWERS TO PREVENT THE EPIDEMIC DISEASES AS WELL AS FOR REQUESTING FOR A RAIN AT TIMES OF DROUGHT

His two eyes are full of Compassion and Grace-Light. If a prayerful approach or hand-written request is made to him by seeing into his eyes, for an effective prevention of the spread of epidemic diseases, as soon as it comes to be known by its attack in any area, the prayerful request gets fulfilled. He brings rain if a request for rain is made by groups of people during drought, or by a compassionate person.

Editor's Note: Years ago, We heard a first-hand account of Vallalar's miracle from Dr. Krishna Menon, F.R.C.S (Edinburgh), Secretary of Sri Aurobindo Circle, Madurai, on how a small photo of Swami Ramalingam, that he kept in his shirt pocket had saved him from a serious accident in Madurai, when the auto rickshaw that he was traveling had capsized with himself thrown out in the middle of the busy road.

Therefore, those who wish to have the protection of the Grace-Light powers of Swami Ramalingam should always keep a small photo(the above picture of Vallalar can be downloaded and printed) in their pockets, purse or vehicle. The Deathless powers of Vallalar will protect from the dangers of natural calamities, accidents and epidemic diseases.

Great Life of Deathlessness

The world is paying highest tribute on the bicentenary of Charles Darwin’s birth on Feb12, 1809 on the ground that his work was an enormous advancement to the development of science especially in the last 150 years since the publication of his book On the Origin of Species in 1859. Charles Darwin wrote how each new species has arisen by descending with modification from an ancestral species due to natural selection. But Saint Vallalar has declared that god is only the cause for the creation of this universe and he is the cause for the lives inhabiting the universe. Unlike the scientists who have held that the relative universe has got its origin from a singularity which in their opinion was the big bang, Vallalar has held that the singularity is the Almighty itself. Arut Perunjothi Agaval of the Saint written in 1872 is the greatest scientific treatise of the origin of this universe and the cosmic design which govern the lives of all beings. It is manifest from there that the universal life was not projected from any singularity outside the Almighty and it is not a simple evolution through mere chemical reactions and physical processes engineered by nature but consciously designed by the divine will.

“Without grace never an atom vibrates; therefore
Praise good of grace, declared oh truthful Lord”
Agaval

It is pertinent to note that after 148 years of the publication of Darwin’s On the Origin of Species in 1859, now Dr. Michael J.Behe, has explored the limits of Darwinism in his book The Edge of Evolution (copyright in 2007). The author finds that

“the edge of evolution—the line that defines the border between random and non random mutation—lies far from where Darwin drew it in his description of the mechanisms of mutation and natural selection. Although this is a controversial and stunning result, it fits a general pattern discovered in recent decades by other branches of science. From physics to cosmology to chemistry to biology, life on earth stands revealed as depending upon an endless series of unlikely events. The conclusion is clear: The universe was designed for life.”

Who is the designer of this universe for life? No wonder in anticipation of such a conclusion by the scientific community, years before Albert Einstein has also raised his much celebrated remark that God is not playing dice. Saint Vallalar answers that the designer of this universe is the Almighty and god does play dice.

“On measureless space, beyond thoughtless mind
Reigning as ever rising, Glory of Glowing Grace”
Agaval

We all know that death is in constant struggle with the drive to life. While death strives to return all organic life to its inorganic condition, the drive to life continues to assemble and integrate the constituent parts into their organic unity. But why should life seek death and death should seek birth. It is for the sake of attaining equilibrium of existence. But Saint Vallalar has taken this world by surprise by his stunning revelation of deathlessness attained by him while he was in bodily existence, not by performing any spiritual discipline or by perfecting his body with any kaya kalpa of the Siddhas but by the glowing grace of the Almighty.

This article has been written in right earnestness to critically analyze and appreciate the truth behind the claim of existence in deathlessness by Vallalar. There is no intention to denigrate any religion or any spiritual tradition. It would be more appropriate to begin this article with the findings of the great Tamil Poet Bharathiyar who sings about the glory of deathlessness in his following verses; Collection of Bharathiyar’s Songs; Song No.

Praising the golden feet of divinity here,
All the truth I have known, I will disclose;
In the end, I too embarked on the same
Mere sayings are they, but not actions;
Is there any death in the state of oneness?
The Siddhas glorified by the elders all,
Extinct they are, died and became dust.

………….
Buddha succumbed to the disease
Sankaracharya, the Brahmin also died
Thereafter, Ramanuja too vanished.

Nailed on the cross, Jesus also died
Krishna breathed last by an arrow of evil
Rama hailed by all too fell into the river
In this world I won’t die, you shall see,
Simple is this truth, I shall not utter lie;
Even in death, I shall not lie to people
Neither there is disease, nor is death;

Shame and grief, anger and falsehood
Fear and desire, if erased out of existence
Then, death shall become extinct there.

But it is irony that the great poet Bharathiyar also succumbed to death at the age of 39; but the question which remains is as to whether the great poet has considered immortality as the continued existence in soul or immortality as thoughts about him when his poetry are read in timelessness.

Saint Vallalar has categorically made two statements;

One statement is for the dead and another statement is for the living;

Statement for the dead declares;

“The coming of the lord is imminent that you who are dead will rise to life”.

Statement for the living declares;

“You need not die. You can live in this world in deathlessness”.

This article is concerned with the second statement of the saint for the living which declares;

“You need not die. You can live in this world in deathlessness”.

What is the meaning of death from the point of view of a philosopher and a spiritual head?

We may recall with respect the statement dated June 2, 1992, made by his Holiness Dalai Lama in his foreword to the much celebrated “Tibetan Book of Living and Dying” by Sogyal Rinpoche;

“Death is a natural part of life, which we will all surely have to face sooner or later. To my mind, there are two ways we can deal with it while we are alive. We can either choose to ignore it or we can confront the prospect of our own death and, by thinking clearly about it, try to minimize the suffering that it can bring. However, in neither of these ways can we actually overcome it.

As a Buddhist, I view death as a normal process, a reality that I accept will occur as long as I remain in this earthly existence. Knowing that I cannot escape it, I see no point in worrying about it. I tend to think of death as being like changing your clothes when they are old and worn out, rather than as some final end. Yet death is unpredictable; we do not know when or how it will take place. So it is only sensible to take certain precautions before it actually happens”.

But on the contrary let us see with what authority Saint Vallalar says that one can live in the great life of deathlessness for ever?

“You need not die. You can live in this world in deathlessness”.

We can still hear the solemn affirmation of the Saint in Thanithiru Alangal song no.146 that he has attained the state of deathlessness;

“These are the words of victory, not words of mere emptiness”

The souls are immortal. Therefore, the question arises as to whether in that sense Vallalar has considered immortality of the soul as deathlessness?

Alchemy transforms the baser metals into precious ones by altering the ratio of the atoms in the respective metals. In the same way the ratio of the atoms may be changed at will to induce some sort of alchemical transformation into the constitution. Whether Vallalar as an alchemist has transformed his constitution into the state of deathlessness?

The body attained by Vallalar is not to be equated with the state of kaya kalpa as glorified by Saint Thirumoolar in “Thirumandhiram “ or with the method as sung by Thiruvalluva Nayanar in the celebrated “Gnana Vettiyan “. Vallalar goes beyond the bodies perfected by the 18 Siddhas as made explicit in the works of “Agasthiyar 12000 “, “Bogar 7000 “and “Kaka Bhujandar 1000 “. In the case of siddhas their bodies were said to have been perfected by a combination of herbal medicines with metallic salts. The 18 Siddhas have prepared the combination of herbal medicine with metals and salts by their yoga siddhi and by which they attained swarupa siddhi –crystallization of body into luminance.

The followers of Babaji, the Maha yogi celebrated for his immortality reported to be still living in the Himalayas, claim that Babaji has been initiated into Kriya yoga by Saint Agasthiya and Saint Bogar. It is history that the direct disciples of Babaji such as in the capacity of Lahiri Mahasaya, Sri Yukhteshwar and Yogananda who have become Masters themselves have been initiated by Babaji himself into the celebrated kriya yoga. In the case of Yogananda, it is reported by his disciples that his body after death did not decompose for twenty one days in the USA. It is not known whether the disciples of Babaji have wilfully cast aside their mortal coils in pursuit of still a higher wisdom probably in the next plane of existence. While in the case of Babaji, it is claimed that the secrets of kriya yoga were taught directly by the Siddhas to Babaji, in the case of Vallalar, the saint has attributed everything which the world wonders at him were gifts of god Himself.

Madame Blavatsky of Theosophical Society when she spoke about the agelessness of her Masters reported that even when she became old, her Master was seen in the same form defying age. But neither the volumes of Secret Doctrine, the magnum opus of Madame Blavatsky nor her great book Isis Unveiled have opened the gates of deathlessness to the world. The volumes of Dr. Annie Besant known for her clairvoyant abilities are also silent as to the existence in a deathless state.

Aurobindo had been living in isolation in his chamber in pursuit of supra mental evolution for twenty years. Mother used to report that even when the doors of the chamber were kept open, lashing rain had never once wet the threshold of the saint living in penance. But when death had embraced Aurobindo, the disciples saw a blue light surrounding the body and his body had not decomposed for three days. The Life Divine, the magnum opus of Aurobindo does not speak about the state of deathlessness. It is claimed by the followers of Aurobindo that the saint always wished to cast away his body.

Many of the saints in this world are reported to have entered into light in the sanctum sanctorum of the Almighty. But there is unanimity that none of such saints have ever been invested with a deathless body prior to integration into Divine Light. How Saint Vallalar alone was in a position to obtain a constitution which has conquered disease, old age and death at one stroke? We may appreciate that only these are the three infirmities considered inevitable in the life of humanity which have evicted Prince Siddhartha from pleasures of the palace into the wilderness of Nirvana as Buddha.

In the song of Great Life of Deathlessness, Vallalar proclaims to the people of this world in the following verse that the knowledge acquired by them is not only a mere illusion and but also a sheer waste as thy are yet to know the truth;

“All that seen were transient, all heard were imperfect
All learnt were falsehood, all enjoyments mere waste
All taken in were dross only, accomplishments incomplete
Oh people of the world you have not yet known truth”;

Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis has held that

“the principal task of civilization is to defend us against nature. No one is under the illusion that nature has already been vanquished; and a few dare hope that she ever be entirely subjected to man….The painful riddle of death, against which no medicine has yet been found, nor probably will be. With these forces nature rises up against us, majestic, cruel and inexorable; she brings to our mind once more our weakness and helplessness”.

The entire principle of psychoanalysis is founded on the weakness and helplessness of the humanity against death. Vallalar goes beyond the psychoanalytic principles of Sigmund Freud and holds on the contrary that death only remains weak and helpless before the stride to live in his clarion call to the people of this world towards the great life of deathlessness.

We may see the authority with which the Saint sings in Thanithiru Alangal song no.155 extracted below that by the grace of god, he came to possess an extraordinary constitution which could not be annihilated by anything in this world.

“Neither by air, nor by earth nor by space
Neither by fire nor by water nor by any radiation
Neither by death, nor by disease, by weapons of murder
Neither by planets nor by any murderous perpetrations
Neither by any other measures nor by any kind of time
I prayed for an ever living body; He granted me instantly
Never think of my frame as mean, oh people of this world
Join my father the god, the glory of the glowing grace”.

The certainty with which the saint asserts the truth further in Thanithiru Alangal song no.156, commands literally awe and respect.

“All the worlds are within mine
All the lives have become my soul
All the wisdom have become mine
All the skills have become my skills
All enjoyment have become mine
Almighty, my father in temple divine
Gifted me everything and lives in me”

Now the question looms large as to how it was possible for Saint Vallalar alone to attain that deathless state while in bodily existence?

It is pertinent to note that anyone who seeks to follow the Saint exclusively on the basis of his spiritual wisdom is liable to have only partial vision of the multidimensional personality of the saint. But only those who follow the saint in line with his extraordinary scientific accomplishments understand the message of the saint comprehensively. The Saint is not a mere theoretical physicist, cosmologist, biologist, or a chemist but is the one who has been an adept in the fundamentals of every subject known and still unknown in this world as it is evident from the songs in the Thiru Arutpa. It is true that many a mind have penned the life history of the saint but fewer minds have hardly dwelt on the periphery of the powerful and original scientific thoughts registered in the songs of Thiru Arutpa composed by the Saint. It requires mention here that many of the followers of Vallalar unexposed to the subject of science are unable to identify the pearls of science in the songs of Thiru Arutpa in the first place and appreciate the same in unison with the universal wisdom of the saint. Consequently such followers still reel under darkness as to the other side of the Saint in the capacity as the greatest scientist who has ever dwelt on this earth till date. The quick links provided in this website captioned under the titles “Vallalar, the Scientist” and “Vallalar the Particle Physicist” if gone through, would definitely transport the reader to the scientific wisdom of the Saint.

In the same way anyone who seeks to follow the saint on the path of Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Vaasi yoga, siddha vidhya or yoga in any form, is to miss the feet of Vallalar on the path of truth.

Even the great sage Patanjali who is the exponent of yoga speaks about surrender to god in his Yoga Sutras Section 1—23, Section II –32 and Section II-45. We may appreciate as to why the sage who has glorified yoga in his sutras and held yoga as the supreme path has to talk about surrender to god as an alternative to the path of yoga.

Bhagavat Gita speaks about surrender to god in Slogas 64, 65 and 66Chapter 18. Like Patanjali, Lord Krishna also teaches surrender to god as the secret of the secrets in the realm of yoga. “Renounce all dharmas and take refuge in me”. It stands to reason and our comprehension that when a person takes refuge in the Maker, the glory of the glowing grace, there could not be any speck of wrongful act on his part as he would be living wholly in righteousness and such a life would be experience of soul.

Is there is a religion in this world which is higher than truth? Therefore, according to the saint, surrender to god amounts to living in truth by leaving falsity and exaggeration.

“Ignorant of grace, ignorant of self, never once
Would ever one knows the truth, said so oh Lord

Realm of grace alone is the realm of attainment
Seek the realm of truth for ever, said so oh Lord”
Agaval

Now we can understand as to why Saint Vallalar always talks about God, the glory of the glowing grace leaving aside Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Vaasi yoga siddha vidhya or yoga in any form. The quintessence of the philosophy of Saint Vallalar is enshrined in these two celebrated songs wherein the Saint denounces all forms of yoga;

“Karpangal pala kodi sella” in song no.55 of “Mahadeva Malai”

“Konatha nilaiyinarai”… in song no.8 of “Kanden Kanindhen kalandhen Enal”

The semblance of surrendering to god should reflect in the speech and actions of the person who claims to have surrendered to god. By surrendering to god one becomes a representative of god and therefore what we consider as the acts of god should at least reflect in the acts of the person who has surrendered to god. Vallalar has declared that he has become the dear child of god not by lineage, not by birth, not by performing austerities and rituals, not by chanting mantras, not by tantras, not by performing yagnas, not by merely receiving dheeksha from a spiritual guru but by living in truth by leaving falsehood and exaggeration. God has been pleased with Vallalar’s existence in truth absolute. The mercy shown by the grace of god to the saint was again radiated back by the saint to other living beings truthfully.

“I have prayed to god not only for the people here but also for all the people of this world. All the people are brothers and they are manifestation of truth of nature divided in space and time. Therefore I am having the right of spiritual unity with all the souls.”

There are two types of saints. One is on the spiritual path for the liberation of his self and when it is attained he leaves the earth. There is another who even after released from the clutches of birth, prefers to come back to this earth to uplift the suffering souls to his attainment. Such souls are never afraid of birth; for them birth does not entail suffering. That is the highest form of Jeeva Karunya that could be exhibited by a soul to another soul. When there is no truth in the relationship between the human beings who have surrendered themselves to god, it does not stand to reason as to how their relationship with god alone could be true? Therefore, not merely by singing the songs of saints glorifying the Almighty could one be granted the boon of deathlessness. The person who cannot adhere to truth by leaving falsity and exaggeration what he is going to achieve in this world by attaining a deathless body? Granting deathless body to such a person would perpetuate not love but death and decay all around him.

It may be appreciated that death has been scientifically defined as the point at which the processes that maintain an organism alive no longer function. In humans it is diagnosed by permanent cessation of the heartbeat; however, the heart can continue beating after a large part of the brain ceases to function. The death of a cell due to external damage or the action of toxic substance is known as necrosis. This must be distinguished from programmed cell death which is a normal part of the development process. The process of cell death occurs naturally as part of the normal development, maintenance and renewal of tissues within an organism. It is called apoptosis which is different from necrosis. Therefore, when the fundamental unit, the cell dies the organism dies and when the organism dies the inevitable occurs.

In order to understand the issue in its right perspective, we may scan the realm of cellular life. It is evident from molecular biology that atoms bond together to create the molecules and molecules bond together to create a cell. Accordingly the human being is constituted by trillions of cells. The most important of the known substances in living matter and without it life would be impossible on our planet is protein. This material has been named as protein, a term derived from the Greek word proteins, meaning first of importance. A cell contains thousands of different proteins, the most abundant class of bio molecules in cell. Because each species of life possesses a chemically distinct group of proteins, millions of different proteins exist in the biological world. The genetic information contained in chromosomes determines the protein composition of an organism and in this manner endows members of species with their macro molecular uniqueness.

The nature of the forces strong as well as weak that give rise to chemical bonds remained a mystery to chemists until the quantum theory of the atom was developed in the 1920s. But the following song no.35 of Thiruvadi Perumai throws light as to how the Saint as a molecular biologist, explains the characteristic reactions as specified above undergoing in the chain of creation within the cellular walls.

Raising flower of pentagon, petals each denser more in mass
Another yet that too bonding with others bearing each other;
Aggregation of forces mightier remain there without dispersing
Sojourn they in that state therein as entities independent;
When idling without motion, with many a method to dismiss
Enduring as light, as space of grace, in the open space of light
Straightened as always constant, the glory of the feet divine
Who is capable here to exemplify, tell me oh my comrade.

In the above song Vallalar has depicted as to what happens in molecular biology. It is manifest that a chemical bond is an attractive force that holds atoms together. Aggregates of definite sizes are called molecules. Atoms joined by chemical bonds, however do not remain together for ever. There also exist forces which breed chemical bonds. By far the most important of these forces arises from heat energy. Collisions with fast moving molecules or atoms can break chemical bonds. During a collision some of the kinetic energy of moving molecule is given up as it pushes apart two bonded atoms. The faster a molecule is moving (the higher the temperature) the greater the probability that upon collision it will break a bond. Hence, as the temperature of collection of molecules increases the stability of their bond decreases. The amount of energy that must be added to break a bond is exactly equal to the amount which was released upon its formation.

Saint Vallalar demonstrates the cause behind the very core of genesis in song no.20 of Thiruvadi Perumai . It is vital to notice that the molecular biological jargons in currency today such as cell, mitosis, meiosis, mutation, genetics, DNA, RNA, mitochondria, chromosome, gene, have not yet arisen on the horizon of human intelligence in those days. Therefore, the different causal terms used in the place of such scientific jargons in the songs of Thiru Arutpa composed by the Saint may not be amenable to objective evaluation of the ordinary follower who is not acquainted with the subject of science. The scientific progress in molecular biology and molecular genetics are underway only recently and we can see the progress rather the evolution of such knowledge such as The Human Genome Project and Human Gene Therapy to wonder at the extraordinary scientific knowledge at the disposal of the Saint who has not acquired any academic excellence from any university.

Creation is one; smaller than the smallest particle subatomic
Is causal core conceived; smaller than that conceived core
Is the sprouting star; much smaller than that star is the moon,
More minute than moon is heat radiant; within that radiance
Sprouting force more micro than the most minuscule below
Trillions below the millions; within temple of divine sanctum
The lord dancing in grace, my master, the glory of his grace
Who can ever speak, never would you know ever my maid.

It is a question as to whether such a soul which has ploughed so deep into the recesses of creation which the present day scientific community is yet to know, would not have tasted the elixir of immortality.

We repeatedly hear Vallalar who proclaims to this world;

“Neither shall I utter falsehood, nor do I exaggerate but utter truth”

Deathlessness could hardly be appreciated by the human being who is incapacitated by his preoccupation with worldly affairs. It is like seeing the signals telecast or broadcast without a television or a radio. In other words, it can be understood only by the person who has crossed to the other shore; those who are living in the experience of the soul which in the opinion of Vallalar is the great life of excellence. There is a difference between seeing objects spanning outside us and seeing our own body in an out -of -body state. The mirror concept which the saint practiced within the closed doors is not staring at ones own eyes in the mirror but to see ones own body in an astral projection. We may appreciate that in the Vinnappa Kalivenba, the Saint has recorded songs glorifying the Kailash Mansarovar and the Kedarnath shrines in the Himalayan region and Thirukona Malai and Thirkkedheecharam in Sri Lanka among other more than 200 temples which the Saint has not visited physically. In that astral state, Vallalar has held that the receipt of revelation and understanding are much more than we ordinarily achieve in a physical state.

It is history that people thronged to the Saint for material benefits of the world. Instead of exploring the ways to experience the great life of existence in soul, they actually started to deify Vallalar himself as god as the saint was in possession of certain miraculous siddhies at his hand by the glory of the glowing grace. But the proximity of the saint was hardly approached for attaining the experience of the greatness of the soul, the life of excellence as repeatedly advocated by the Saint to his followers. Under such conditions Vallalar has come to the conclusion that his walking on earth with such a noble constitution was rendered useless to uplift the masses on the path of truth. Therefore, Vallalar on his own has considered it necessary to disintegrate the divine constitution and disperse the sparks in every soul as seeds are sown in the fields. In that sense, the dematerialization of the Tibetan Monks and the one engineered by the Vallalar are poles apart and therefore, could not be compared at all.

When the saint closed the doors on 30.1.1874, it was evident that the saint has come in advance of a century before the evolution of the human psyche to a required level to receive the message of great life of experience of soul. Instead of spreading wisdom under one bodhi tree, the saint has planted the entire universe full of bodhi saplings. The dematerialization achieved by the Saint Vallalar on 30.1.1874 within the four walls of Siddhi Valakam is different in its entirety from the art of dematerialization practiced in other spiritual traditions. Dematerialization of a deathless body is different from that of the dematerialization of the mortal body exposed to disease and death. The art of dematerialization within some spiritual traditions and religions achieved on the siddhies by control of the mind should not be equated with that of the discipline achieved on the plane of soul. Moreover, dematerialization attained by Vallalar is not in furtherance of any worldly gains, not pursued for the welfare of the self or for the people of any particular place but for the people of this world. His dematerialization of the physical body is not for re-materialization but to disintegrate his whole being permanently like the virtual particles which fill the cosmos. Therefore, in the case of dematerialization the technique with the saint was far ahead and distinctly different from the one practiced by the Buddhist monks. They actually assist ailing and ageing persons to die and not to live as it is evident from the words of his Holiness Dalai Lama.

In the deepest contemplation within the recesses of the stilled mind it is revealed that Saint Vallalar was walking in flesh and blood only just like any human being prior to 30.1.1874. The body of Vallalar was cocooned by an atmosphere in miniature. Just as the child within the womb of the mother is protected from chronic diseases of the mother by a layer of stem cells, so also within the atmosphere itself another atmosphere in miniature is created. It means within a radius of some distance it encircled the body of the saint. The saint was literally moving within the unseen capsule unaffected by the atmospheric fluctuations. The cells in his body do not experience any energy loss and they remain as they are till posterity. Just as a Black Hole in the galaxy is a house of the dead star which is distinctly different from both physical chemical conditions distinct from the space immediately surrounding it, so also the Life Whole in which the body of Vallalar was protected against death and decay, defied the physical laws applicable to humanity as such. It becomes a Life Whole where like a gene, the body is protected from disease and aging. It is like defying gravity on the earth within a simulator installed within the precincts of NASA. Cellular life was replaced by subatomic life where the energy supply is constant in quantum jumps.

Albert Einstein said that God is not playing dice. But Vallalar has demonstrated with certainty that he is playing dice in association with god.

The advice of the saint to the followers in the following lines made on 22.10.1873 more than a century before, has not faded into the void of insignificance but still resonates with all intensity within our souls:

"You all inquire into the state of our existence and the state of god who governs us. Such inquiry is not concerned with any mundane affairs but concerned with the state of spirituality. The veils which cover the soul should be removed by a thoughtful meditation on god which need not be resorted to in caves in the mountainous jungles but could be achieved where we are, by intense contemplation on god”.

The mantra Arut Perum Jothi

Datta says that faith is a gift from God and can be accessed through divine grace. One way to get in touch with divine grace is to use the Jothi Mantra “Arut Perum Jyoti”. (Mantra for ascension - to invoke grace, light and compassion)

When I was Swami Ramalingam, I asked Shiva that I needed limitless intelligence and limitless energy, he said that I can have arul. Arul is limitless intelligence and limitless energy. Arul is opposed to marul which is limited intelligence and limited energy. Science and technology for instance is marul. But I needed limitless intelligence and energy, Shiva gave it to me. He said use this mantra

Arut Perum Jothi
Arut Perum Jothi
Thani Perum Karunai
Arut Perum Jothi

Arut Perum Jothi means arul with its infinite intelligent energy is a limitless vast light.

This is being repeated twice so the translation would be "Limitless intelligence and energy is a vast light".

The next line is Thani perum karunai which means the mercy of the lord.

Together the chant means "You get this unlimited intelligence and unlimited energy as a form of infinite light through the grace of god".

Let me rephrase it,

Through the grace of God you get arul, which is limitless intelligence and energy.

As you begin to chant,

Arut Perum Jothi
Arut Perum Jothi
Thani Perum Karunai
Arut Perum Jothi

then you develop this limitless intelligence and limitless energy.

Arul can be transmitted instantaneously within a fraction of a seconds. The downs biological human cells programmed to aged, pick up diseases and die will become light as soon as they come into contact with light of arul. Arul is non mind intelligence. It is the intelligence of the divine that enables you to do supernatural things. With arul you begin to develop psychic powers and also utter powers to appear and disappear at will, to attract people, to become so humungous, or to be become so little like an atom. All this is possible with arul. When given arul, you will have this ability to do anything and everything. As Ramalingam, I was sold to this idea. I did not value anything in life other than arul, I did honed it.

Omnigracious Infinite Light.

Dindigul Swami Saravanananda

Grace revelation of VADALUR RAMALINGA SWAMIGAL to fill the universe with Grace and true Wisdom that emanates from Sanctum Sanctorum of SATHYA GNANA SABAI; and to spread for ever from its grand reopening day 19.6.1977.
===============================================================
OMNIGRACE is the Supreme attribute of God, expressing out from the innermost and spreading out to form into all the material, physical, vital, mental, intellectual, spiritual and gracious stages in the universe. This functioning is the outcome of that Divine Infinite Light. This Light of Eternal Self Existence is not to be sensed by the ordinary knowledge of man; but it can be realized and practically experienced by the perfect gracious knowledge of a soul, who will realize that he is that Divine grace itself, and acknowledge its Light as his life and body. Thus One Supreme Grace-light alone is eternally expressing itself in the universe for the purpose of bringing out the never ending Blissful life in the form of perfect man.
At present, the man is in the penultimate stage in which he is undergoing all kinds of pleasant and painful experiences in the passing world. In his Divine Life stage, the man tastes the existence of All Powerful Soul-God, and from there, he gets bestowed with a good amount of Divine Gracious power to enjoy and live the Blessed life for an appointed time; and finally he vanishes from the worldly stage. This was thought to be Moksha or merging in God. No other end was contemplated or realized by any person on this earth till now. Nor was there any exception for anyone to live here eternally. But now, by His Omnigracious ordainment, that eternal Divinity itself has come out to live in the form of Arutprakasa Vallalar.
Saint Ramalingam – the Real man, has found himself nothing but inner Divine light itself and he lives from that higher plan extending that Light throughout his whole being. Thus that Divine Gracious Light of God has come to occupy in the being of the Saint, finally to make him Arutprakasa Vallalar (meaning the All-giver of gracious Light Being). This highest Omnigracious achievement is new to the whole humanity. Now the end or the Goal of the man is found indeed endless life, as that of God Almighty. We see here, the first two letters of God and Almighty are taken to represent the word “ GOAL’.
This indicates and confirms that it is only Omnigracious Light of God Almighty which is taking step by step possession of human being transformed or metamorphosed into the Eternal Divine Being – the Goal.
SATHYA GNANA SABAI
(True temple of Wisdom)
To attain the deathless blissful life, the whole humanity is directed towards the Omnigracious Divine Light, set up in the True Temple of wisdom. Our Vadalur Sathya Gnana Sabai represents this Inner Temple of True Wisdom and its closely connected environments are Dharmasalai or charitable free food feeding institution and a centre to propagate the lessons of Gracious Divine culture. Without interruption, this physical life’s sustenance work alone is going on through the Dharmasalai, while on the other hand, the Soul education centre is not functioning as proposed by the Swamigal. In the absence of real Soul knowledge the worship in Wisdom Temple is not as designed by our Vallalar.
The truth of this Temple is barely based upon the Divine Soul kept aglow in man himself. The omnipresent omnigracious Light has instantly exposed itself in the form of a Soul-atom at the beginning of the human embryonic creation. This Divine Soul Light is kept glowing from the inner centre of the head, till the life force exists in a person. From this Light, all our energy, knowledge and power are evolved to enable us to live on this earth. Only when this Divine Light comes to fill and take full charge in the being of man, the Eternal Blissful Life could be realized. This blessed realization is intended to each and every person who is born here.
Therefore every person is cordially invited to this Temple of Wisdom for attaining the everlasting blessed life.
Generally, people are living a sensuous physical life in this world. In order to transcend to the higher life of Divinity, a person must pass on the gross and subtle bodily stages and take shelter in the soul-abode or causal bodily stage. These above three stages are embodied in the symbolic Wisdom Temple of Vadalur. The practical experience of this Temple is to be realizable only at the head level. The first stage of living gross body of eight spans is represented by the octagonal structure of the Temple surrounded by iron-chain fencing. The second subtle bodily stage is denoted by the inner octagonal space covered with the walls having twenty four openings of doors and windows. And the third stage of causal body is with the Divine Light put upon the central Altar with five steps on each of the four sides. At the time of worship, one is to stand before the central spot of the main door from where he can perceive the Divine Light in front of him and from there he can see the golden and silver apartments on either side of him. All these are to enlighten the inner Divinity to be experienced from the centre of the eye-brows.
When an aspirant progresses in the path of Divine grace, he gets enlightenment step by step, on the whole in seven stages. These are exhibited by seven coloured curtains hiding the inner Divine Light glowing above the Medulla oblongata which is set up as a small closed chamber with an Altar above. In the course of inner progress, we have to move inwardly from the root of the nose as an external practice, and we have to rise up from the inner chamber by meditational practice. At the time of full gracious achievement, we will experience ourselves as the Inner Divine Light itself. This is the Light through which the Omnipresent God Almighty is coming to be experienced as our realized Being. Thus this is the truest Wisdom Temple of everyone for obtaining Eternal Blissful Life. Without knowing this Divine Truth and renewing the life of grace from the Innermost, no amount of religious, cultural, yogic, scientific or any other means can raise the humanity to the Divinity of Blessed Blissful Life.

A call to the whole mankind.
Oh, you the Divine Souls ! Living anywhere in any different walk of life, you are all cordially invited to this True Temple of Wisdom from where alone, you can get real solace and Bliss. Indeed a compassionate life without sensuous carnal desire and hatred must issue from our Divine Selves or individual Soul itself. There must be no hindrance by way of laws or religious criteria in extending our pure loving service to the whole mankind. Ignorance of the real Omnigracious Divinity was still now holding the whole humanity under delusion; and so the amalgamation into one world community was not practicable. From this moment, the guiding Light of Omnigrace is spreading from the soul of everybody. Hence, surely the Divine Blessed Life will come to abide by or stay on this world in the near future. May the Omnigracious Infinite Light bring peace, prosperity and Bliss to the mankind at large.

Divine Life of Daeiou:
A new-divine life is to spread out from the Wisdom Temple itself. Because God-Almighty in the form of our individual Soul-self is ruling both our miniature universe, the bodily being and the whole of the boundless greater universe, that the life we live along with Him is really Divine. From the Innermost He is commanding five basic forces of material atoms, vital energies, intellectual knowledge, omnwsoul powers and the universal Blissful Life. As we are really, existing with Him in non dualistic state, our Divine Life too must be in consonance with His One. To implement such a Divine Life we have gained entrance or rather we have an understanding of our existence in the soul Temple itself. From here, let us extend our thoughts, words, and deeds to the enlightenment of everybody approaching us for the upliftment.
Now we are shining from Wisdom Temple and our life is spreading with Penta-power to fill Blissfully. This Divine Light Life’s representation is described thus:

Diagram

Here the Divinity is based upon a flower of jat[ - D A E I O U, from the centre of which is rising omnigracious power SAKTHI. The ‘I’ of the Sakthi is formed into the shape of a flame. From this light of the penta powers of Porul, Kiriya, Gnana, Yoga and Arul are spreading around to produce in the universe all Atoms, Energies, Intelligence, Omni-Soul power and Universal Blissfully Life of God-man. We see the Divine Light of DAEIOU is diverging from the centre of the up-turned D, with five forces representing five words or phrases begun with five English vowels respectively. Vowel we know is the life force of the alphabet while the consonant denotes the body form. Thus by this DAEIOU realization, the Eternal Blessed life of Bliss is completely exposed in this symbolic figure.
This newly coined six lettered word DAEIOU is pronounced as Dayavu. When we commence our new life from the Wisdom Temple, the expression of Daeiou is implemented through thoughts, words and deeds. DA – j ? worked from spiritual soul centre, EI – a ? used spreads from the heart centre, and OU – t[ ? serves out externally through the physical body. Without clinging to the sensuous desire and hatred, we have to divulge our Daeiou to fellow beings, in due course of such a service all the Divine forces will come gradually to fill and transform our whole being so as to make our life Blissful and Eternal. Thus the Divine Life of Bliss is to be achieved by the whole humanity through the realization of Arutperunjothi in the Temple of Wisdom enabling all to live from the Inner Temple, itself.
This Bliss-giving life is a must to the whole mankind. And this is neither a religious nor an irreligious life nor even a material or spiritual life of the revered rishis and saints of yore. So, no one should take this as a challenge to their present life. Without any prejudice and religious chauvinism and casteism, every one is to extend his ‘DAEIOU’ life from the Divine centre in himself. When the life blossoms from the Innermost, all the truth will come to light which will aid and guide the humanity to make the life completely Blissful !
Let this serve to bring out the real happy life for one and all. Though this has come to enlighten you from the external source, truly, this, you must see ever working from the Innermost of everyone of yourselves. There is nobody and there is nothing except One Supreme God Almighty of Daeiou expressing out fully well in every perfect man of that Daeiou life. Let this goal of Daeiou life be achieved through the munificence of the Omnigrace by one and

DEATHLESSNESS

Swami Saravanananda
22.1.1970.
The Omnipotent God is eternally existing in two aspects. What all We can see and sense in the external universe is the outer aspect of Him. The cause and effect of this boundless universe is the Inner aspect of Him. Though these two aspects are eternal, the outer - one is visible and ever changing on the other hand the Inner - one is invisible and changless. From the Inner - most the Almighty power is ever expressing out all to appear, disappear and re-appear in the whole universe. The man with all his sense organs, reasoning mind material and mechanical aids is unable to find out either the Outer - most of the universe or the Inner - most of himself. All the sciences and philosophies are trying unsuccessfully to probe towards either extremity. The material scientist's vision is reaching some stellar region while he has actually visited and landed the lunar sphere. The spiritual philosophers and yogis have gone deep into themselves and there they have experienced some Divine mystic power. From this Inner experience of the Self or soul which is permanent, the knowledge of the two aspects of God has come to light.
Nuclear science has given out some atomic energy of electromagnetic forces. But these forces are not Divine. From the nucleus of the material atom when the life energy comes out some physical body is built around that particular atom. Along with that life energy sensuous knowledge too developes and blossoms into intellectual mind in this human life. This mind has been endowed with the reasoning power by which the man is exploring all the outer and inner truths. Here, it is to be known that all the above energies have come out from the nucleus of one atom or other. That life giving atom in man is found out, to be shining from the mid head of the man through out his life time. That mystic atom of life and light is switched on and off by some unknown agent. The highest psychic knowledge of yogis has revealed that the mystic atom is the Divine soul atom of Atman. This soul atom is the Eternal abode of God who is One Supreme. Being existing Omnipresently for ever, He is commanding and ruling from this atom for all the creation and destruction in the world.
From the above paragraph it is clear that the soul atom of man is really the Eternal throne of God Himself. His Omnipresent, attribute makes Him to express out to everywhere. In any form of expression He projects only very small portion of His Being; but that too comes to realisation when the man transcends to that soul plane. There is none but Himself existing Eternally without changing in the Innermost and with changing outwardly. Hence, in man too, the soul and living body are really the double expression of God Himself. Till now the man was holding himself to be a physical being of temporary life. Even a yogic philosopher by his unriped soul knowledge was thinking that he was only a soul being brought out to this physical life in order to get the self realisation. After that soul realisation he merges into it and loses the outer frame. Thus his Divine knowledge and soul experience come to an end. To this soul atom the eternal life is to come through the outer life only. From outside one cannot live an eternal life. Therefore he must at first take his lodging at the soul abode.
The soul atom is common to both God and man. In reality of higher Divine experience man and God are one and the same. Without clinging to the sensuous life the man is to live a pure life of Divine Love from the Innermost. By His Omnigrace this Divine man is entitled to live an Eternal Blessed life; This Eternal right of God is the Divine right of man. To be unaware of this Divine right and passing away ignorantly is not the Will of God.
Death is not the end of the man. In death, only the physical body is lost. After the physical death the soul unfolds its life energy to form another body of new birth in this world. Here, one is to know something about the spirit body and the spiritual world. At the time of death, the outer body begins to decay and dissolve, in the meantime the spirit form that comes out of the corpse continues a ghost life for a longer period. This spirit or ghost may enter in some other body and reveal something about its past life. This ghost life is neither permanent nor a holy one of Divine quality. This spirit of a departed person may be guiding its devout followers and worshippers for a long time. But through that medium no one can get the highest salvation. The true Divine life is to come directly from the Soul itself.
The Soul knowledge and life are obtainable only in the physical life of material world. Unless one realises his Divine soul life in this world he cannot live in Oneness of Him. Therefore he who lives in God will be blessed with immortalisation. This is the Deathless life. Without understanding this Eternal Life all the people of the world are passing on and passing away. The worldly religions are not teaching the humanity about the Supreme Truth of Almighty God, who is Only One for all. The present scientific mechanical life, the religious material life and the physical spiritual life cannot enable the man to obtain the Blessed Eternal Life.
Deathlessness and a Blissful life is the goal of man. This life opens from the soul or Innermost of every one. So it is not bound against any religion. There is no hindrance to any body to live in any circumstance.
People of the world without knowing the most supreme Divine Truth are imagining and demonstrating many many things about God, Atman, soul and spirit. The religious scriptures, philosophical reatises, scientific theories and all the isms of today have not brought a peaceful and happy life to the world. It is seen that some fast changes are happening in all the life of mankind. The Omnigracious Light of God is spreading on the horizen of the Inner world. This truth of Divine right has been revealed and realised by our Swami Ramalingam. (Thiru Arutprakasa Vallalar of Vadalur). As a Proof of his realisation he has attained immortality. Those who come to abide in the Soul Divine can perceive him and live a life of compassion in Oneness of himself. The old attainment of soul stage is, not at all a deathless life. The life that is evolved from that Eternal soul transforms the nature of the body to fill up by everlasting Light of Grace. Hence the deathlessness to man is the Divine Will and order.

Answer for How to feel or experience chit pranan

by Nakinam Sivam

What is Chit Pranan ?
Chit Pranan is called as Jeevan.
It is came from Athma
Athma came from Sivam that is God.
If you want to feel or experience the Jeevan and Athma means
First you know about the state of that.
Athma is not a sthoola state. it is sookshuma state.
you see the sthula material by your sthula eye.
If you want to see the air means you only feel. not see the air.
The Athman is sukshuma that's why we can't see it.
But one way is there to feel and see the Athma.
The main abstacle to see or feel the Athma is Mind.
The mind's main duty is get you in to outer conciuos.
But the Athma is in inner conciuos.
outer concious mind can't see or feel Athma.
The only way to see or feel the Athma is you divert your outer concious to inner concious.
Then you get the experience of conciousless stage that is called Thuriyam.
It is also like sleeping but it is not true sleeping it is conciousless mind.
after that you become SUPER INNER CONCIOUS
then you see the sit praanan
If your outer concious is working means you cant feel or see the Sit Pranan.
There are many more ways to see the Sit pranan
1. Sariyayil Gnanam
2. Kiriya Yogam
3. Kiriya Gnanam
4. Yoga Kirya
5. Yoga Gnanam
6. Gnana Yogam
7. Gnana Gnanam

If you want permanently mingled with God means you choose only Gnana Yogam.
That is Sutha Sanmaarkam. It is 15th stage of 16 Levels.
If you practice Sutha Sanmaarkam means you easily enter the 16 th Stage of Ganana Gnanam.
Except these all the ways are only see or feel the Athman.
But not able to continue there.

THE WAY OF ATTAIN THE SUPER SENSE (Maignanam)Chapter-1

To get boon from God:

If we want to get boon from God, first understand what the God is. It does not give fruitful results whether the God is there or not unless you understand the characteristics of the God.the atheists argued that they never see the God so they say "he is no where" and also the theists donot able to understand the power of the God so they confused to conclude about the God. This tend the confused way to relate the path between human being and the God. Our Divineguru Karunaimigu Vadalur Ramalingam Iyya Created "Thiruvarutpa" by his full involvement and enthusiasm to construct a broadway to Understand the relationship between humane and the God also it is accepted by atheist and theist. Following his footsteps, we may try to interaction(sathvisaram)about the maignanam through scientifically.

Size of the Universe:

It has the diameter of 10,000millions Light years distance and 50,000millions light years distance total cubic space. one light year distance isequal to the light which passes a distance in one year with the speed of nearly 3 lakhs km/per seconds. Like the light, which passes 10,000millions light years distance that is the total diametre space of the universe. In the universe there are nearly 8millions galaxies. In each galaxy has 140,000millions suns. Each sun has the family of many planets. Each and every galaxy has the diameter from 1lakh to 10millions light years distance.

Size of the Galaxy: Our galaxy(milkyway galaxy)is the smallest, has the diameter of 1lakh light years distance. Our sun is in the group of middlest shape and also it is 1.3millions times bigger than our Earth. If we draw the map of universe with correct measure of scale in solar's family size of (the diameter of solar family is 19,000millions Km)plain paper, the earth size will be accomadate only a head of the ball pin size.From this most&most smallest planet, the Earth, the people worship human beings, Kings, warriors, wise intelligents, saints, prophets, creatores eventhough they are born and also fighting with each other which one is the apex till their life end.

Different names of the God:

The prophets are representing the god in different names with their language, It represents in english "God", in Sanskrit "Parabrahmmam", in Roman "Christ", in Arabic "Allah" in Tamil "Arutperunjyothi, Adhibaghavan, Paramapitha, Iraivan".

How to attain the truth: The God, the one and only power, who controlling over the total space of 50,000millions light year cubicdistanceUniverse, must be worshipped by without structure, without equal. The only way to attain the truth about the God is to worship him beyond the caste, religious, ethnic, occupation, etc., it will provides the immediate results. The Apex power is also beyond the reason, place, time, etc. so we should be worship him without taking the non-veg and provide the annadhanam(feast) to the people, it provides the true worship.Many persons do the meditation but no one get the attainment to reach the God with taking non-veg food.

The result of feast (Annadhanam): It must be the work of providing the food to the people who are below 12years old with unprivileged and unaided, and above 72 years old poor peoples and handicapped peoples. This is the true Annadhanam. If we do it with the money of others and also to the people who is in good health, it creates the lazy people and it cannot provide the good result. so it should be done with their own money. In the Sovereignty of God there is no food drain in our country. So now the people require the Provide of Love, knowledge, peace, good character and be good human being. To be continued next week..........

Principles, Teachings, Notable Happenings, Rules, Comments

"Service to mankind is path of moksha"

The ArutperunJothi Ramalinga Adigalar, popularly known as VALLALAR, the Great Munificient, may be regarded as the foremost of the saints and ages of the nineteenth century, considering the heights, widths, depths and intimacies of his integral realisation of the Divine in all the "inmost, inner, outer, and the outermost parts of his being".

The VALLALAR was the one who affirmed openly and clearly in an unmistakable language the deathlessness of his body which he attained by the power of what he called "Arut Perum Joti", the Vast Grace-Light of the Divine which he identified as the Truth-Light of Knowledge, Satya Jnana Joti. HE who put before the people DEATHLESSNESS of body as an essential part of the realisation of the One blissful Divine. A saint whose very soul-stuff was made of infinite love and compassion, a sage of Truth - consciousness who possessed the divine knowledge and science of deathlessness of body and attained its deathless transformation along with the self creative power of creating all substances of whatever kind including bodily substances.

Of HIS six volumes of "Arutpa" , the poems of divine inspiration, the last volume is unparalleled in spiritual history as it gives expression to his realisation of the vast world of Truth-knowledge and the Beyond, and touches on subjects like transformation and deathlessness of body .

Besides, he was a critic, writer, publisher and commentator and also had knowledge in occultism, alchemy, astrology, and medicine particularly in the nutritional and medical values of herbs and leaves. He was a musician too with a keen musical taste for lyrical songs and he composed lyrics to express, in an easier and popular style, his highest and sublime realisations of the Divine, particularly that of Truth-consciousness (Satya Jnana).

Vallalar Principles
Universal brotherhoodness
Treating all souls are equal.
Creating awareness to individual's self diciplines
The God is one for all and worshipping Him as Vast Grace Light or ArutperunJothi
No killing of animals
No eating of flesh
Jeeva Karunaya ; Showing mercy to hungry and feeding them.

Arutprakasa Vallalar Chidambaram Ramalinga Swamigal (Tamil: à®…à®°ுட்பிரகாச வள்ளலாà®°் சிதம்பரம் இராமலிà®™்க சுவாà®®ிகள்), (5 October 1823 – 30 January 1874), whose pre-monastic name was Ramalingam. He is commonly known in India and across the world[1] as Vallalar (Tamil: வள்ளலாà®°்). He was one of the most famous Tamil Saints and also one of the greatest Tamil poets of the 19th century[2] and belongs to a line of Tamil saints known as "gnana siddhars" (gnana means higher wisdom). The Suddha Sanmarga Sangam[3] was spread and passed on by him not only in theory but mainly in practice by his own way of living which was itself inspiration for his followers. Through the notion of Suddha Sanmarga Sangam, the saint endeavored to eliminate the menace of caste.[4] According to Suddha Sanmarga, the prime aspects of human life should be love connected with charity and divine practice leading to achievement of pure knowledge.

Early life

Ramalinga Swamigal was born to Ramayyah Pillai and his sixth wife Chinnamaiar, who lived in Marudur in South Arcot district, a village 15 km north-west of Chidambaram. By a quirk of fate Ramayyah Pillai's first five wives had died childless and in quick succession. Chinnamaiar however, was blessed with five children, two sons, Sabapathi, Parasuraman and two daughters, Sundarammal and Unnamali. They named their youngest child as Ramalingam.

Notable happenings during childhood

When Ramalinga Swamigal was an infant (five months old), his parents took him to the Chidambaram Temple. It is said that this infant laughed aloud when the priest offered the traditional Deepa aradhana to the Lord. This apparently routine visit to the temple thus offered him his first spiritual experience as well. later years he said of the experience as:

"No sooner the Light was perceived, happiness prevailed on me" "The sweet nectar was tasted by me as soon as the Arutperunjothi (Supreme Grace Of Light) became visible"[5]

In 1824, the very next month, his father Ramiah Pillai passed away. His sudden death forced a helpless Chinnamaiar to shift to the residence of her eldest son Sabhapati and his wife Parvathi at Chennai. When Ramalingam was five years old, Sabhapati, decided to formally educate his youngest sibling Ramalingam but the young child however showed a deep disinclination towards formal education but on the other hand preferring trips to the local Kandasamy temple. Sabhapati was convinced that the child was on a self- destructive path. As a punitive measure, he forbade his wife from giving Ramalingam his daily meal. His compassionate sister-in-law, however, surreptitiously fed him food and gently prevailed upon him to pursue his studies seriously at home. Ramalingam relented on the condition that he be given a separate room of his own. Now, in the solitary confines of this room, he set up a mirror and in front of it a small, lighted lamp. With these as aids he relentlessly meditated and this was the beginning of the spiritual journey of the young boy. The first reward came in the form of a vision of Lord Muruga. In the saint's own words:

"The beauty endowed divine faces six, the illustrious shoulders twelve"[6]

His elder brother Sabhapati was a learned scholar and upanyasaka (one who tells religious stories). It so happened that once Ramalingam had to substitute for his brother at an upanyasam session. His brilliant exposition and uninterrupted flow of words while enunciating a verse from the `Periyapuranam' by Shaivism an epic poem by Sekkizhar narrating the episodes connected with the 63 Nayanars amazed the onlookers. Later his brother also graciously acknowledged the mental and spiritual superiority of his brother. Ramalingam himself expresses his gratitude to the Divine when he says:

"Effulgent flame of grace that lit in me intelligence to know untaught"[7]

As he made quantum leaps in his spiritual journey he progressed from being a devout Lord Saiva to worshiping the formless. Totally averse to money, he was later on to shun food and even sleep. He renounced the world at the age of thirteen. Surprisingly he remained fit in form. A hurdle on his chosen path came in the form of a forced marriage to his sister's daughter. It is said that the bridegroom spent the nuptial night reading the Tiruvasakam.

His Teachings

He made an indelible mark in the religious history of India when he came out openly against its caste system and the negative impact it had on society. In an attempt to redress the situation he established the `Samarasa Suddha Sanmarga Satya Sangam'[8] in 1865, which means `Society for pure truth in universal self-hood'. He had also by this time shifted to a place called Karunguzhi from Chennai. His next step in establishing a practical approach to religion was the setting up of a free eating house called The Sathya Dharma Salai[9] in a place called Vadalur in 1867, where all could eat without any distinctions whatsoever. Ramalinga Vallalar abhorred non-vegetarianism. In one of his poems he says:

When I see men feeding on the coarse and vicious food of meat, it is ever-recurring grief to me.[10]

It is significant that the land on which this eating house was built was donated by a few landowners. The registered document is available for inspection even today and the service of providing free food also continues to this day.

Ramalinga Swamigal opened a temple at Vadalur on January 25, 1872, called the "Sathya Gnana Sabha" (Hall of True Knowledge), - One of the primary teaching of valallar is "Service to mankind is path of moksha". He declared that death is not natural that our life's first priority should be fight death. He declared religion in itself is a darkness. He laid a very great emphasis on being vegetarian. We said God is "Arut Perum Jothi" who is personification of mercy and knowledge. He said the path of compassion and mercy are only path to God.

In 1865 he established a poor feeding center. On the inaugural day he lit the fire of the stone stove, with a declaration that the fire be ever alive and the needy shall be fed forever. Around 1870 he established the Sathaya Gyana Sabai, hall of True Wisdom Forum and ensuring it was entirely secular . This place is not a temple as no offerings of fruits or flowers could be made, and no blessings were given. It was open to people of all castes except those who ate meat, who were only allowed to worship from the outside. The oil lamp lit by him is kept perpetually burning. He said that our soul is blinded by 7 seven veils.[11] There are seven cotton fabric screens, representing the seven factors that prevent a soul from realizing its true nature.

The entire complex is bound by a chain with 21,600 links, said to represent 21,600 inhalations[12] by a normal human being.

He said intelligence we possess is Maya intelligence which is not true and final intelligence. Path of final intelligence is "Jeeva Karunyam".

He advocated a casteless society. Vallalar was opposed to superstitions and rituals. He forbade killing animals for the sake of food. He advocated feeding the poor as the highest form of worship. He condemned inequality based on birth.

Chennai Kandha kottam

Kandha kottam Kandaswami Temple[13] is located at Parrys Corner in Chennai. At the entrance of the temple, there is a hall called Parivedan mandapam. Sculptured image of Vezhmugathu Vinayakar in sitting and standing positions are kept on either side of the mandapam. To the front of the Artha mandapam, there is a dwajasthambam (Flag Staff). The Mukha mandapam is where the idols of Sarva Siddhi Vinayakar, Meenakshi Sundareswarar, Idumban, Sri Ramalinga Swamigal, and Pamban Swamigal are found.

Ramalinga Swamigal's Literary works

As a musician and poet, he composed 5818 poems breathing universal love and peace, compiled into 6 TirumuraigaL, which are all available today as a single book called Tiruarutpa[14] (tiru-arut-pa, holy book of grace). Another work of his is the Manumurai Kanda Vaasagam[15] describing the life of Manu Needhi Cholan. Jeeva Karunya Ozhukkam[16]

Ramalinga Swamigal's disappearance on January 30, 1874

Ramalingar raised the flag of Brotherhood on his one room residence Siddhi Vilakam[17] in Mettukuppam on October 22. He gave his last and most famous lecture, entreating his audience to undertake a spiritual quest and look into the "nature of the powers that lie beyond us and move us," and asking them to meditate on the lighted lamp from his room, which he placed outside.

Swamigal on January 30, 1874, entered the room and locked himself and told his followers not to open it. He said that even if they did open it they would find nothing. His seclusion spurred many rumors, and the Government finally forced the doors open in May. The room was empty, with no clues. The Madras District Gazetteer published by the South Arcot District in 1906 records his disappearance.[18]

VALLALAR ---- Tamil Holyman.

Vallalar (also known as Ramalinga) was instrumental in propogating the Sudha Sanmarga (Pure Gathering) School in the Tamil region of southern India, during the 19th Century. Vallalar belonged to a line of Tamil saints known as "gnana siddhars" ("gnana" means higher wisdom). The Suddha Sanmarga was spread and passed on by him not only in theory but mainly in practice by his own way of living which was itself inspiration for his followers. According to Suddha Sanmarga, the prime aspects of human life should be love connected with charity and spritual practice leading to achievement of pure knowledge. He recommended a rather spartan approach to obtaining Enlightenment -- complete abstinence from sex and the pleasures of the table. In his book Head Itself A Temple, Malaysian-based Tamil Brahmasri Gailasasaamy wrote: "The inner meaning of Sanmarga is Brahma Gnana. One who practices Brahma Gnana can only "Go up"." Let us assume that most people reading this article want to go up -- they want to move up into a higher dimension. Perhaps Vallalar can offer us some insight, perhaps even "The Way". Even though abstaining from sex and even basic human company might be a little too much for most modern Seekers of the Truth!

UNIVERSAL JUSTICE ---- In the Gandhi Tradition.

There have been many books written in Tamil and English about Vallalar. In one of them, The Universal Wisdom of Saint Ramalinga by Dr M.P. Sivagnanam, Vallalar is described thus: "Saint Ramalinga was not only a saint of divine grace but also a reformer who wished for revolutionary changes in society. The socio-religios-economic changes that are taking places in the today's world are the dream of Saint Ramalinga a century ago. Saint Ramalinga was an even greater reformer than his contemporaries, Raja Mohan Roy, Dhayanandha Saraswathy, and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He toiled to find a world of Spiritual Love and Universal Brotherhood, which would be free from the differences of castes and creeds, and such class distinctions as rich and poor, and which will show equal love to all living beings."
Sivagnanam went on to write: "I desired inwardly that the reformistic ideas of Saint Ramalinga should be propogated in the country, on the basis of piety and patriotism. I also thought of creating a milieu for the birth of a reformistic movement for freeing society from communal and religious fanaticism, transcending hatred towards castes, religion and God." Hence Sivagnanam's efforts to publish a book, to bring the Hindu world back together, under the shadow of Vallalar!

VALLALARS'S THREE RULES

Abstinence, Abstinence and Severe Absistence.
Vallalar had many teachings which would be considered obscure today, even anti-social: physical hardship seemed to be high on his agenda! For example, Vallalar belived that initiates should refrain from eating as much as possible, and try to remain perpetually hungry. In fact, Vallalar's great recipe for spiritual enlightenment was thus:

1. Remain hungry.
2. Remain alone.
3. Remain awake

On the issue of sleeping, one of Vallalar's many teachings was that sleeping in the dark causes a loss of Prana (life force, called Chi or Qi in China, Ki in Japan, and "The Force" in Star Wars!) Vallalar wrote: "We should not be in the dark during night. It will cause loss of prana. Therefore, at home, we should sleep having a light, thus removing darkness. This will increase life span. Where there is good lighting, darkness is sucked by such light. If there is no brightness, then such darkness befalls on us and causes losses."

MIND OVER MATTER

Vallalar enters the 5th Dimension.
Certainly a strange teaching, but maybe the Illumined Tamil was on to something. According to popular belief, Saint Vallalar finally overcome the restraints of physicality, and entered the 5th Dimension. He did not die as such, but simply vanished from the world. Some believers claim he may be alive today (at least in spiritual form), wandering the expanses of Tamil India. Where is Vallalar claims that the Tamil saint had spent his whole life preparing to convert himself into thin air. "The day was January 30, 1874 and places the courtyard of an old monastery in the quiet village of Village of Mettukuppan near Vadular, Tamil Nadu. A frail looking man with gentle eyes was talking to small gathering of disciples. He was clad in a white place of cloth which covered his head and body together. His face emitted an aura of compassion and humility. Ending the discourse he rose from his from his seat and started walked into the building. The disciples followed him in silence. He walked towards a small room in the back of the building. As he reached the door, he turned and looked at his disciples. Raising his arms in farewell and blessing, he entered the room, closed the door and told them to lock it from the outside. The door was locked with a big padlock. There was no other opening.

"Earlier the saint had told his disciples that he was in the last days of his physical existence and that he would soon pass into the astral world. Now he had secluded himself in final preparation.
"The news that the saint had locked himself up in a room slowly leaked out. There was much excitement because the saint had earlier been talking about the possibility of the living dissolution of his physical body.

"It was already three months when the news reached the government at Madras. Some officials came to investigate. They ordered the door to be opened. To the great wonder and amazement of all that stood around, they found no one inside the room. A thorough inspection of the whole building was made and nothing suspicious could be found. Now it was clear that as proclaimed, the saint had achieved the unachievable. Without discarding his physical body, he had dematerialized."

AGAVAL ---- The Call Divine.

Thiru Arutprakasa Vallalar wrote back in 1974: "This Agaval or Call Divine is the longest poem in Tamil containing 1,596 lines. This outpouring was composed by Vallalar in a single night and at one stretch. This stupendous effort was not due to his material learning or scholarship but through the grace of the Lord. There are many great works in Tamil but none can equal this divine poem in its sublimity.

"Compassion occupies the core place of the Lord. The universe is enlightened by this compassion. Similarly if man aspires for illumination, he must start his quest from within. This practical way called (Anaga neri), is the way of Suddha Sanmarga which leads to Sachidananda. He, who makes his life anew by following this way, finds Arutperunjothi in one and all and paves the way to Universal Brotherhood.
"Any work of divine inspiration needs divine guidance for its interpretation. Mere scholarship and a great knowledge of lexicon are of no use in the interpretation of such esoteric works. One has to reach the ninth plane (the plane of the soul) to find out the true significance of such works.

"The inner guiding Light commanded me on the eve of first of January 1960 to begin this interpretation. A couple of lines were taken every morning for interpretation. The work went on without any break and was finished in 798 days (l596/2) i.e. from 1st January, 1960 to 8th March, 1962. The much feared conjunction of eight planets in Capricorn (makam) took place on February 4th and 5th of 1962, February 4th was a Sunday and also a new moon day.

(Tamil) "Thiraiyelan dhavirthuch chevviyut rangea
(Tamil) Varaiyelam vilanga vayangu sen judarea"

"The above two lines were taken on that day for annotation. It means that all the obstructing veils were removed and the sun rose splendidly on the mountain tops. This has rather a special significance. We can observe the dawn of the divine Effulgence from the position of the middle star poosam in Cancer. We are safe in the hands of the divine light, which guides all the planets, seen in the opposite sign Capricorn, the sea-monster. Westerners were not able to realize this significance because western hemisphere experienced solar eclipse on that day. These are only examples to show how the inner reflects in the outer World.
"The concept of Siva found in the work is refreshingly different from concepts prevalent during the middle ages. It goes back to pre-historical time. Infinite Divine Light was called Siva by the ancient Tamils They also called it as Kandazhi (Tamil). They came to known of it with their mind's eye or third eye. The last level of grace is only revealed now through Saint Ramalinga. Since Tamil language is based on Siva Tatva, it has become a proper medium of expression for divine light. But we must remember that Sivam mentioned here can no religion connotation in it. Arutsivam means Arutperunjothi, Sivam contains three letters. The letter (Si) is the light (va) is the power of grace or compassion and (m) is the life experienced in man. So Sivam means the divine light not only converging into the soul of man but also diverging from there, completely transmuting him into an immortal one in the process.

"In this Agaval, the evolution of the Universe, through the grace of the Lord, is vividly described. Arutperunjothi is evoked in five hundred alternate lines of the couplets. By going through these lines patiently, we will be able to draw inspiration, realize our own identity with the Lord and live in Him..."

What are the four margams

Sanmargam is composed from the four arts or discipline

1. SIRIYA : The art of divine service in daily life.

2. KIRIYAI: The art to perform Divine devotion or prayer, feeding the poor who have nothing
is another form of action.

3. YOGAM: The are of the truth path of communication or yoga is to live in a good and
excellent way.

4. GNAANAM: The art of the truth path of wisdom is to live absolute felicity while anchoring
into the inner light with the Divine grace presence, this is true knowledge.

*In the presence of Divine Grace.*

Then it is important that to arrive at the level of Suddha Sanmargam it is necessary to pass 12 levels of experiences which include the first three levels of experience described below. These three levels are each time associated to the four art described above, 3 times 4 equal 12. They result is to attain the 4th level Saayuchiyam, the integrate union with god..

The four levels of experience

1. SAALOKAM - Live in god world.

2. SAAMIPAM - Live near god.

3. SAARUPAM - Live in the self consciousness that we are the same as god.

4. SAAYUCHIYAM - Reach the united union and the unity with god.

The united union refers to the inner divinity realization: saarupam.

This is union must be associated with the outer god. Saayuchiyam the believe in the Divine Godhead or a higher force which induces the decent of grace. Anchor in the physical body.

We have the four levels of experience that are combining with the four Margams.

The four Margams are:

1. Dhaasamargam
2. Satputhramaragam
3. Sahamargam
4. Sanmargam

We can compare the meaning of the four Margams in the Indian tradition:

1. Become the servant of God.
2. Become the son of God
3. Become the friend of God
4. Become god himself

Vallalar gives this meaning to the four Margams

1. Become the servant of all living creatures
2. Becomes the son of all living creatures
3. Consider all living creatures as your friends and same for the opposite
4. Consider the life of all creatures as your life

In each Margam we have the four arts, 4 times 4 eaual 16 types of experience or levels of evolution.

For example in Sanmargam we have the art of Sariya, Kiriya, Yogam and Gnaam, It is the same for the other three Margams.
